Our story & what we do
Established over 150 years ago in the clay mining area of Cornwall, by Herb Truscott and Fred Bunt, our business has been handed down from generation to generation.
It is now run by Robert and wife Janice and their two sons Oliver and Andrew. Robert took over the running of the business when his father, Raymond, passed away in 1988. Robert can remember, at the age of 16, when he and his father would make every coffin by hand at their carpenters’ workshop in Nanpean. Although times have changed, our traditional family values continue at the heart of our business today.
We offer a 24-hour service 365 days a year and are always pleased to answer questions or help where we can. We are happy to meet with families in the comfort of their own homes. Equally, families are very welcome to visit us in the privacy of our office at Fore Street, St Dennis.
As the funeral industry has changed over time, so has the need to adapt and tailor the services we offer. Whether you prefer a traditional funeral, or require a more modern/bespoke service, we will endeavour to make sure you, the family, have the send-off you want.
We will work personally for you and are at hand to offer advice on all aspects of the funeral.
We can help with:
- Registration process
- Choosing the location for a service
- Advising on local minister/celebrants
- Flower arrangements
- Newspaper announcements
- Alternative Hearses and Transportation
- Funeral Stationery
Through many years in the profession, we have built up an extensive list of local suppliers that we are pleased to recommend to families if so wished.
